Open PhD Admission 2024-25: In India, there are 32 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and more than 20 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). These premier research and education institutes admit PhD scholars in two sessions. Now Admission for Semester I of the 2024-25 session has commenced.
As of 20 April 2024, there are Six and IIITs NITs who have announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2024-25. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships.

Surathkal, 07 April 2024: The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surathkal, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD Programmes for the July 2024 session. Institute Fellowship benefits are available to full-time PhD scholars.
Full-time research scholars are eligible for a fellowship of Rs. 37,000/- pm for the first two years and Rs. 42,000/-pm for the remaining two years on satisfactory progress if they qualify in the national level written test and a technical interview, both conducted by the respective DRPC of the concerned departments in physical mode at NITK, Surathkal. The Research scholars have to assist in teaching and laboratory work assigned by the department and are eligible for 30 days vacation leave per year.
