Introduce Semester System: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) announced the introduction of a semester system for Class XI and XII students, starting from the academic session 2024-25. This decision was approved by the School Education Department, Government of West Bengal, vide memo no. 340-SED-11099/312/2023 dated 06.03.2024.
Under the new system, students will be evaluated based on two semesters in each academic year. The detailed syllabus and implementation strategy for the semester system will be uploaded on the WBCHSE website soon.

What changes are being made in the syllabus?
According to the new notification of the higher secondary education parliament, the syllabus is also going to change with the semester system. In other words, the syllabus that class 11 studied last year will be completely changed this year. The new syllabus will be released by the parliament and this new syllabus will be updated very soon by the higher secondary education parliament on their official website.
Impact of this update on those who are currently studying in Class XII.
This update is only for those who have passed the Madhyamik examination and are going to be admitted to Class XI this year. This update will not apply to all the students who were admitted to Class XI last year. That is, they are going to be tested in the same old method and old syllabus.
