World’s First Women-Led Medical College: Not just the capital of Tripura, Agartala is set to become the birthplace of a new chapter in global healthcare. The world’s first fully women-led medical college and super speciality hospital is being established here, marking a historic milestone from Tripura. This is a revolutionary step by Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College towards the empowerment of women.
Pioneering Healthcare Infrastructure
Located at Ranir Khamar on the outskirts of Agartala, the Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College, with the support of the state government, will soon complete the construction of a 650-bed hospital. Within two years, it will expand to an 1100-bed super speciality hospital. This institution will be unique, being the world’s first medical college and super speciality hospital entirely managed by women entrepreneurs.
Women at the Helm of Healthcare
The newly established Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College and Hospital is not only a symbol of future medical infrastructure development but also the realization of a bold dream for social progress. In an era where women were often limited to being recipients of healthcare, they are now poised to become the architects of this sector. Every aspect of the hospitalโmanagement, technology, medical care, and financial planningโwill be led by skilled women.
A World-Class Facility
Malay Pit, President of the Medical College, stated, “The proposed hospital will be an 1100-bed world-class multi and super-speciality center. It will feature various departments including Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Pediatrics, and Gynecology. Modern emergency units, telemedicine, research, and digital healthcare facilities will all be available under one roof. Women entrepreneurs are and will remain at the core of this project.”
Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs Take Center Stage
Pit also highlighted, “On June 14, at an event in the Press Club of India where Positive Barta was recognized by Asia Book of Records, a group of confident and determined women entrepreneurs from Tripura captured everyone’s attention in Delhi. Their stories, successes, and self-confidence deeply impressed high-ranking administrative officials and dignitaries in Delhi. These extraordinary women shared their personal feelings about their struggles and achievements. Their narratives were not just a few words, but a powerful testament to their determination and their journey towards self-reliance and financial independence, actively participating in social development.”
“They are working towards socio-economic empowerment and development with that self-confidence and determined attitude. We want to leverage their confidence and resolve at our Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College to advance the development initiatives on the state’s map,” Malay Pit added.
Dreams and Opportunities for Tripura’s Youth
This project is not just about infrastructure; it stands on the dreams and potential of people. This historic journey is moving forward on the shoulders of a group of visionary women entrepreneurs who believe that change begins with courage.
Thanks to Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College, the youth of Tripura will no longer have to look towards medical colleges and hospitals in Kolkata or Delhi. They will receive world-class medical treatment and education in their home state.
A Symbol of Empowerment and Leadership
This project, built on the soil of Tripura, is not only an improvement in healthcare but also a living symbol of women’s dignity, leadership, and bravery. Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College is not just a college or a hospital; it is a new address for dreams, a nurturing ground for new history.
