Ola Electric Makes E-Scooters: Ola Electric has revamped its scooter strategy with a focus on affordability. The company did not launch entirely new scooters, but rather introduced the S1 X line-up with revised pricing for all its variants.
The biggest highlight is the attractive starting price of Rs 69,999 for the S1 X with a 2 kWh battery. This brings the base price of the Ola electric scooter range significantly lower, potentially making it more competitive with petrol scooters in the Indian market.
Here’s a breakdown of the new S1 X prices:
- 2 kWh battery: Rs 69,999 (introductory price)
- 3 kWh battery: Rs 84,999
- 4 kWh battery: Rs 99,999
These prices reflect a reduction of Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000 across all three variants compared to their previous iterations.
Ola Electric claims that the S1 X range caters to diverse needs with its different battery options, offering a range of 95 km to 190 km on a single charge (IDC certified). The scooters also come with an 8-year/80,000 km warranty on the battery, providing peace of mind to customers. Deliveries of the S1 X are expected to begin next week.

But the price cuts aren’t limited to the S1 X. Ola Electric has also announced revised pricing for its entire S1 lineup, including the S1 Air, S1 Pro, and S1 X+. Here’s a quick look at those:
- S1 Air: Rs 1,04,999
- S1 Pro: Rs 1,29,999
- S1 X+ (launched earlier): Rs 84,999
This move by Ola Electric suggests a strategic shift towards making electric scooters more accessible to a wider range of consumers in India (Ola Electric Makes E-Scooters).
The company seems to be acknowledging feedback about price being a major barrier for electric vehicle adoption. With a more competitive price tag, the S1 X and the overall S1 line-up could potentially become more attractive options for those considering a switch to electric mobility.
